Job Summary

The Housing Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Housing Department, with primary responsibility for coordinating disability housing accommodation requests and maintaining compliance with applicable housing policies and regulations. This position serves as a central point of contact for accommodation-related processes, including documentation management, database administration, interdepartmental coordination, and communication with members throughout the accommodation review process. The Housing Coordinator works closely with the Housing Supervisor to ensure requests are processed accurately, confidentially, and in a timely manner while supporting the overall operations of the Housing Department. The Housing Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Housing Department, Operations, Cooperative Experience, Maintenance, and unit-level managers to coordinate responses to housing-related concerns, support members, and facilitate effective communication across departments in a cooperative living environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate the disability housing accommodation registration process within the housing management database, including data entry, ongoing monitoring, report generation, and follow-up communication with members. This includes:
• Receive, review, and track accommodation documentation in accordance with BSC policies, Fair Housing requirements, ADA and Section 504 guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records related to disability accommodation requests while ensuring compliance with applicable privacy standards.
• Assist the Housing Supervisor with intake meetings, documentation review, and assessment of accommodation requests.
• Support the accommodation assignment process by preparing records, coordinating communications, and following up with members regarding the status of their requests.
• Communicate approved accommodations and relevant information to unit-level managers while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Prepare reports, maintain tracking systems, and assist with ongoing monitoring of accommodation requests and related departmental activities.
• Serve as a liaison between the Housing Department, Operations, Cooperative Experience, Maintenance, and unit-level managers to address housing-related concerns, including maintenance issues, interpersonal conflicts, disability accommodations, habitability concerns, and other matters affecting the residential community.
• Manage member communications; process bookings, transfers, cancellations, and adjustments in housing software (Mercury, StarRez, Yardi, or equivalent)
• Provide general administrative support to the Housing Department as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with a residential or property management system (RMS/Mercury, StarRez, Yardi, or equivalent database software).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Gmail).
• Strong organizational, administrative, and recordkeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating disability accommodations in a housing, higher education, property management, or human services setting.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act requirements.
• Fair Housing, ADA, and Section 504 Coordination Experience preferred; will be provided within the first 90 days of employment, if needed.
