| body = This page is from a previous collective bargaining agreement. The equivalent contents for EA employees are now under Sick Leave, Health and Dental Insurance. For other employees, see the employee handbook sections on Health Insurance and Paid Time Off for Sick Leave.

}}
#:Employees who have worked more than ten years – forty-eight days
#:When these limits are reached, the employee shall cease earning sick leave time until such time as the employee’s accumulation drops back below these limits. Sick Leave earned after the 192 hour limit is reached may be accrued as additional Vacation leave.  However, such converted Vacation Leave shall still be subject to the limits prescribed in Section 8.C. and shall not be considered in determining the unused vacation days “earned in the previous two (or 2.5) years.”
#Sick leave is granted only when an employee is unable to render service because of sickness or disability, including doctor’s appointment, dental care, or quarantine. Sick Leave hours totaling up to four days per calendar year may be taken for personal (e.g. mental health) reasons.  None of these hours may be taken while on, or in conjunction with vacation time.
#Time off due to death or serious illness in the immediate family is subject to the same provisions governing personal illness.
#Sick leave is granted to employees who become ill while on vacation.
#The BSC shall pay the monthly fee for either of the offered health plan(s) for each regular employee and the employee’s spouse (or domestic partner coverable by our insurance provider ) and children (up to the health plan’s dependent limit).  If the employee is already covered by a health plan substantially similar to the BSC’s offered health plan the employee shall be given the option of having the BSC reimburse the employee the cost of the employee’s plan (up to the cost of the lower of the BSC’s offered Health Plan(s) or to drop the plan and join either of the BSC’s Health Plan(s). In addition, the BSC will provide a dental plan with the premium paid by the BSC for all the aforementioned employees, their spouse (or domestic partner coverable by our insurance provider), and their dependents (up to the dental plan’s limit).  It is understood that any further benefits can be arranged at the  Employees’ expense at the discretion of the Employees.  Individual employees not eligible for health benefits may purchase at their own expense medical and dental insurance package, if acceptable to the BSC’s insurance provider.
#The BSC shall reimburse each regular employee for his/her out-of-pocket coinsurance health expenses after the employee has incurred eligible medical expenses of $100.00 per-person.
#For sick leave of three or more consecutive days, medical verification of illness may be required by the Executive Director.
#As used in this and other sections, ‘spouse’ shall include any partner to whom the employee is legally married, or any domestic partner coverable by our insurance provider.
## In the event the BSC’s offered health and dental plans is unwilling to provide insurance coverage for an employee, and employee’s spouse, or the employee’s children; the BSC shall be under no obligation to provide such coverage. However, if the employee is independently able to secure such coverage; the BSC will reimburse the employee the cost of the employee’s plan(s), (up to the cost of the lower of the BSC’s appropriate offered Health Plan(s)).
#Medical Reimbursement Program.
## BSC Health Plan provides for a deductible. The Plan has a Family Deductible limit.
## The BSC has no limit on the number of deductibles which must be satisfied by each family. The BSC deductible is $100.00 in incurred eligible medical expenses per person.
## The BSC Health Plan pays coinsurance on reasonable and customary eligible Out-Patient Psychiatric expenses after the deductible is satisfied, up to a maximum benefit in any 12 consecutive months and a maximum benefit per visit.  The BSC reimburses the employee his/her coinsurance during the calendar year after the BSC deductible has been satisfied.
## When the employee’s covered medical expenses in a calendar year reaches the coinsurance limit including the deductible, the BSC Health Plan will pay 100% of further covered expenses for the remainder of the calendar year (subject to the maximum Out-Patient Psychiatric benefit limit.)
## Employees covered by health plans other than the BSC Health Plan shall be reimbursed their out of pocket expense, after they have incurred $100.00 in eligible medical expenses per person per year.
