DUTIES: Provides support for and assistance to the Member Education Coordinator in their duties, including the organization and development of training programs, maintenance and promotion of the Member Education Resource Library, preparation for NASCO Institute (annual in the fall), correspondence and research, i.e citing sources from publications, and general clerical support (mostly data entry & database maintenance).

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, promotion of Member Education Resource Library materials and workshops, cataloging the Member Education Resource Library, gathering feedback on impact of Library materials, updating library catalog as needed, making travel arrangements for NASCO (annual), managing enrollments for Unit Level Management Training every semester. There may also be additional duties as requested by the Member Education Coordinator (dependent on the candidate's skills/interests).

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheets, & desktop publishing computer programs. Skill in desktop publishing and design is preferred. You need to have excellent written & verbal communication skills. Please have good organizational skills, time management, and a fine attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team are both required. Applicants with an interest in visual communication, data visualization, leadership development, and/or community organizing are strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge of BSC policies and programs is required, (or must be willing to learn). You cannot be on the Board of Directors or hold a compensated unit-level manager position and hold a central level job. You must be a current BSC member and meet student eligibility guidelines to hold this position.

HOURS/PAY: This is an 10-hour/week position, compensated with a rent credit at $22.00/hour for 12 hrs/week and fulfilling your five-hours/week workshift requirement. Apartment dwellers and Summer residents will receive an additional rent credit stipend for the five workshift hours (at $22/hour), as this job does not replace the workshift requirement at the apartments or during the Summer. If for whatever reason this job begins mid-semester, the stipend will be prorated. This position is eligible for work-study compensation.
